Cost Per Vote

This is just a quick estimate, and only includes an approximatation of what the Presidential Campaigns themselves spent (I've seen an estimate of a total of $1,200,000,000 (yes 1.2 BILLION Dollars) spent on this election when the spending of the campaigns, the parties, and the various 527 (advocacy) groups are included).

But for a quick calculation:

Michael Badnarik received approximately $1,000,000 in donations. Assuming his campaign spent ALL of it, with 400,000 votes that's $2.50 per vote.

The Bush Campaign spent approximately $370,000,000 between donations and the 74 million that each of the two candidates recieves. With approximately 59 million votes, his campaign spent $6.25 per vote.

The Kerry Campaign spent approximately $315 Million for 55 million votes, or $5.63 a vote.
