What's the Threat Level these days anyway?
In the months preceding the 2004 election, I remember constant updates on the threat levels "elevated," "high," etc.
I don't recall hearing a single threat assessment in the last few months.
That wouldn't be because the government was playing the politics of Fear, would it?
Noooooo.....our government would never stoop to something like that.....
In other analysis, the Terri Schiavo case gets endless coverage, and the Christist nut-jobs go on and on about how Michael Schiavo wants to murder his wife to cover up evidence of attempted murder will finally be silenced when the full autopsy requested by Schiavo is performed (unless, of course, they continue to call it a conspiracy and coverup).
And we are again given 24-7 coverage of the Michael Jackson trial, while news of Donald Rumsfeld being sued for torture is given a pass.
Will we ever get back to living for ourselves, and our own lives, and allowing our neighbors to do the same?
